• Sensory systems with a focus on the mammalian retina
• Molecular composition and function of cilia with a focus on sensory neurons
• Mechanisms of cilia formation, maintenance, degeneration and the participation in adaptation processes with a focus on the connecting cilia in photoreceptors
• Human cornea and the cell interactions between stem cells and their microenvironment in the limbal Epithelium
